A lot of people ask me what a Sheriff is and what does the Sheriff do?
The word "sheriff" is a contraction of the term "shire reeve". The term, from the Old English scirgerefa, designated a royal official responsible for keeping the peace (a "reeve") throughout a shire or county on behalf of the king. The term was preserved in England notwithstanding the Norman Conquest. From England the term spread to several other countries, like Scotland, Ireland, and the United States.

I am running for the position of Plymouth County Sheriff because I would like to bring my experience, as well as my knowledge of corrections and public safety to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department. I want to use my experience to reestablish the credibility, stability, and integrity of the Sheriff's Department.
I come to you with over 17 years of experience in Corrections and Law Enforcement. I know what it takes to do the job, lead the Department and run a sound correctional facility. I have worked in Suffolk County corrections and have held several positions including supervisory, as well as union president.
I want to Revitalize Plymouth County, share our Resources, and Refocus our priorities, while remaining fiscally responsible to the employees and the taxpayers of Plymouth County.
In these times of financial unrest we must return to the basic responsibilities of the Sheriff's Department, and serve the public's best interest. I know this can be achieved through fiscal responsibility and utilizing the experienced professionals who work for the Department.
The Department's responsibility is to public safety and the care and custody of the inmates sentenced to the facility. It is a serious responsibility that needs to be led by experienced fiscally minded corrections professionals.
